This is about the most fascinating aspect of following Jesus: learning to trust. We grow up in a world in which trust is taught with a 2X4 or a gun: give in, or we pound on you. Any "trust" so gained is just force applied, and when the force goes away of course so do the actions.

Contrast that with God, who teaches trust by example. He invites all of our mistrustful aspects to come out from hiding and enjoy his presence. It's much too good to be true so I have a hard time doing so.

Larry -- too true. Trust is usually enforced, 2x4 or not. Of course, as an intellectual exercise I can see that is not trust at all. But in the practical, it can be disguised so well that I do not see it for what it really is.

Beautiful!! I love that statement. It captures the heart of God.

Pete -- welcome! So glad you came by. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on all my craziness here. :)
